The hair growth cycle typically lasts between 2 to 6 years, depending on the individual. Shedding 50 to 100 hairs per day is normal, but when hair loss exceeds regrowth, it can lead to an imbalance and result in alopecia.
COMMON CAUSES OF HAIR LOSS:
DHT (Dihydrotestosterone Hormone): High levels of DHT, combined with genetic sensitivity of hair follicles, can damage and shrink them, preventing healthy hair growth. This eventually leads to alopecia. Although DHT is primarily associated with men, women, especially post-menopausal, can also suffer from DHT-related hair loss due to increasing testosterone levels.
Lack of Nutrients: Insufficient intake of essential nutrients weakens the hair bulb, causing thinning hair and a shorter growth cycle.
